What separates the good from the great are principally three things: toughness, pride and self-belief. Bishen Singh Bedi’s team displayed these qualities when they chased 400-plus to win a match against Clive Lloyd’s squad in West Indies at Port-of-Spain in 1975-76. The Caribbeans showed the same virtues when they denied India a victory when they were chasing 120 in the Barbados Test in 1997.
