You haven’t said in your book that Sachin Tendulkar was scared of you, have you?

I never said that. I only said he was not comfortable on that day, that series, because of the injury problems he was going through. I did not say that he is a coward or is afraid of fast bowling or that I am a great, jinn fast bowler.

So why this uproar?

The media had its fun, having twisted what I wrote, quoting me out of context.

Sachin also reacted.

Yes, it is sad that the media lied to him about what I wrote, without reading my book.

You write that match-fixing is still rife.

People have been caught from your country, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, England. Which country is left?

You say it could end with higher wages in Pakistan. They aren’t really that badly paid?

They are getting very little money. The PCB does not distribute money from TV rights to the boys. If a players plays all the matches in a season, he earns about Pakistani Rs 65 lakh.

Is it only about the money?

It is not about money, but the money is a necessity to living comfortably so that we can focus on the game.

Do you know Matthew Hayden wrote you built your body with steroids?

If that were possible, I would turn a rat into an elephant. But I would advise Hayden to take some steroid that could make him look better.

Twenty20...can it create good bowlers?

You won’t get great fast bowlers. In four years, has a single pacer emerged from the IPL?

Imran Khan says Twenty20 will mean the death of fast bowlers.

He is absolutely right.

Any chance of a Bollywood career?

I have been offered many roles but sorry, Bollywood is not for me. But who knows what might happen in 10 years?
