The skipper then left the field as the physio checked up on Rohit. KL Rahul deputised in his absence. Rohit later came back on the field after receiving treatment.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl in their World Cup match against New Zealand in Dharamsala.

The Men In Blue made two changes, bringing in Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami in place of Hardik Pandya, who sustained an ankle injury in the match against Bangladesh earlier this week, and Shardul Thakur. New Zealand remained unchanged. Both sides are undefeated coming into this fixture.
