Mumbai was lit up by Kohli's (117 off 113) and Iyer's (105 off 70) centuries as they dented New Zealand to come back into the match. Shubman Gill too contributed as he scored a defiant 80. In reply, New Zealand started strongly but some good bowling at the death ensured the Kiwis finished at 327 in 48.5 overs as Mohammed Shami finished with incredible figures of 7/57. The highlight of the New Zealand innings was a 181-run partnership between Kane williamson (69) and Daryl Mitchell (134). Earlier, India had won the toss and elected to bat first against the Kiwis.
