IND Vs AUS, 4th T20I: India Win By 20 Runs In Raipur, Claim The Series - As It Happened

With the series finely poised, India met Australia in Raipur for the fourth of their five T20Is. One win away from securing the series under the stewardship of stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav, India set their opponents a modest target of 175 before defending admirably with the ball. A Suryakumar Yadav-led India beat opponents Australia in Raipur to claim the series. India went into the game with a 2-1 series lead, winning the opening two games in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram before losing what would've been the contest-clincher in Guwahati. Nevertheless, the Men in Blue made amends in Raipur, first setting their opponents a target of 175 before defending it successfully with the ball. (Scorecard | Full Coverage)

Rinku Singh proved most effective with the bat for India, scoring four short of fifty in 29 balls, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jitesh Sharma next up with their crucial contributions. Later, Axar Patel claimed three of the four wickets that the Indian spin unit dismissed for just 33 runs, helping his team stifle any chance of a late Australia comeback.

10:33 PM: AUS - 154/7, IND Win By 20 runs

Avesh Khan came in for the final over. Australia needed 31 runs to win. Matthew Wade tried fighting back, hit a six, but his innings of 36 runs off 23 runs couldn't save the match. India won the match by 20 runs and also claimed the series with 3-1.

Mukesh Kumar on the attack. Matthew Wade hit a beautiful boundary. Australia scored a nine runs in this over.

Avesh Khan scaped his first wicket in his third over. Ben Dwarshuis (1) was bowled by Avesh Khan. Matthew Wade hit a boundary and a total of seven runs from the over.

Deepak Chahar picked up another wicket by dismissing Matthew Short (22). Ben Dwarshuis walked in to join Matthew Wade. Australia scored only six runs from the over.

Mukesh Kumar came into attack. It proved a costly over for India as he gave a total of 14 runs, including a no-ball and a six. Matthew Wade and Matthew Short changing the gears for final showdown.

Deepak Chahar dismissed Tim David (19) before he could hit big shots. Matthew Wade joined Matthew Short on the crease for the run chase. Nine runs including a six and a wicket from the over.

A big over came for Australia as Mukesh Kumar gave nine runs from his second over. Matthew Short hit back to back boundaries.

A brilliant over from Ravi Bishnoi. Just a single run came from the over as Tim David managed to steal it.

Axar Patel came to bowl another over. He bowled the set batter Ben McDermott and sent him to the pavilion. Matthew Short walked in to join Tim David, on the crease. Australia added six runs to the scoreboard.

Ravi Bishnoi back into attack with his third over. Australia got seven runs from the over through singles and a triple. Both the batters Tim David and Ben McDermott showed good footwork.

Avesh Khan is on the bowling side for the second over. Tim David hit a massive six on the third delivery from Avesh Khan. A big over for Australia as they added 10 runs to the scoreboard.

Another wicket came for India as Axar Patel picked up the wicket of Travis Head (31). Only three runs from the over. Aaron Hardie joined Ben McDermott on the crease to chase down the target.

Ravi Bishnoi came to bowl his first over and dismissed Josh Phillippe (8) on the first delivery. Ben McDermott walked into the crease to join Travis Head. Australia got only two runs from this over.

Deepak Chahar came into attack. Travis Head came down heavily on Chahar as he hit four boundaries and a six, adding a total of 22 runs to Australia's scoreboard. It was a costly over for India.
