India women won the first match by 4 wickets but the host came roaring back with an eight-wicket (DLS method) win in the 2nd ODI.
In a rain-curtailed match, England women won the toss and put India women to bat first with conditions suited for bowling. Nat Sciver-Brunt-led side did not disappoint as they made full use of the conditions.
Apart from Smriti Mandhana (42) and Deepti Sharma (30), Indian batters failed to put on a show as they amassed 143/8 in 29 overs. Sophie Eccleston took three wickets for 27 runs.
In reply, the English batters started off strongly as Amy Jones (46 not out) and Tammy Beaumont (34) put their side in the driver's seat. England chased down the revised target of 116 in 21 overs.
