The Blue Tigers will now take on Asian giants, Saudi Arabia on September 28 at the Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium, Hangzhou. Igor Stimac and company will be up against it as they face a mammoth battle against Saudi Arabia.
Talking about India's Round of 16 opponents, Saudi Arabia have been one of the best teams so far. They were placed in Group B alongside Iran, Vietnam and Mongolia. Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 against Iran but hammered Mongolia 3-0 and ended with a 3-1 win over Vietnam
Speaking ahead of the game, India coach Igor Stimac took to X, formerly Twitter, to portray his feelings. He wrote, "From completing their sleep in airports to activation/recovery sessions in parks in China, I wanted to personally show my appreciation to all my players here at the Asian Games. These boys are thorough professionals and doing everything they can to make India proud. Against all odds, we have obtained our primary goal of qualifying for the last 16 and these players deserve all your love and praise."
