Former Pakistan skipper and legendary bowler Waqar Younis has claimed that star batter Virat Kohli will not just go past Sachin Tendulkar's tally of 49 ODI tons but also finish his career with more three-figure scores one could even imagine of. (More Cricket News)

On Monday, Virat scored his 47th ODI ton and is two shy of equalling Sachin Tendulkars all-time 49 ODI centuries. The Delhi-born batter also became the fastest to complete 13,000 runs in the 50-over format, surpassing his idol, Sachin Tendulkar.

"The difference between him and other players, even Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, when he finished, had 49 hundreds (ODIs). I can promise you Virat is a long way from finishing his career or being done with cricket. He will end up with a lot more (hundreds) than anybody can think," Waqar was quoted as speaking on Star Sports.

Virat and KL stitched a 233-run partnership in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 game against Pakistan. The former captain pushed himself hard in what was a humid day in Colombo as the duo converted ones into twos. Rahul, on the other hand, was playing his first international match in over 5 months.

"I felt sorry for KL Rahul because he was coming out of injury and he had to run with this man. He runs like a crazy man. Doesn't miss a single, doesn't miss any extra run because he wants to be the best. He wants to be the best in anything he does, batting, fielding or running between the wickets. And what he loves himself is his work on fitness," Waqar said.

India ran away with an easy win against their arch-rivals thanks to Kuldeep Yadav's 5/25 as Babar Azam's men were bowled out for 128.
