Outlook is a genuinely liberal magazine. VM was one of the best editors we’ve known, and his ability to go beyond his own viewpoints and make the magazine a collection of diverse ideas was unique. Outlook provides detailed analysis of any piece of news that’s aired on television. It helps me understand news in more ways than one. The special essays by writers such as Arundhati Roy are another treat. Your features section is better than most magazines. I enjoy its handling of cinema—the views are critical of the industry and its work without an overly slanted standpoint, which is refreshing. Over the last 19 years, Outlook has defined what a magazine should be: its stories, design, photographs, covers are interesting and I look forward to what’s coming up every week. But I do wish you moved away from news which TV or newspapers provide and look at less popular views and stories that need telling. I would like to see more culture and alternate reporting.
