Tamil Nadu Government To Provide Ten Lakh Biscuit Packets For Sabarimala Pilgrims

The inaugural container will contain the biscuits for distribution at various points along the pilgrimage route from Pamba to Sannidhanam.

The Tamil Nadu government has pledged to contribute ten lakh biscuit packets for distribution among pilgrims visiting the Sabarimala shrine, as announced by the Travancore Devaswom Board on Saturday.

According to the board, the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department of the Tamil Nadu government will dispatch the ten lakh biscuit packets in four containers to Pamba.

The inaugural container, ceremoniously flagged off from Chennai on Saturday by Tamil Nadu's Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Minister P K Sekar Babu, will contain the biscuits for distribution at various points along the pilgrimage route from Pamba to Sannidhanam.

In addition to the biscuits, the Travancore Devaswom Board has collaborated with the Sabari Group, previous sponsors of pilgrim biscuits, and Unnikrishnan, the Kerala liaison officer for Tamil Nadu's Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department, to coordinate the delivery.

Medicinal water will also be provided along with the biscuits for the convenience of the pilgrims.
