CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has just four months to get elected to the state assembly if he wants to keep his chair. So he’s working overtime on his pro-poor image before he hits the hustings. Grandiose development schemes aimed at "the last man in the last row" apart, the CM has announced a public auction of the gifts he received since assuming office last year. "The proceeds will go to our poor," he said. It’s a moot point whether anyone would be interested in buying the sundry gifts and mementos lining the shelves at the CM’s office. Though there is no official word yet, Chauhan is likely to contest from home base Vidisha.
