But what she can’t live down is how she was tricked out of the MP chief ministership. The criminal case which compelled her to demit office has since been dropped. But the fact that she wasn’t rehabilitated has left Uma in a raging fury, spewing venom at the capital coterie she believes plotted to keep her out of the state which she won with a huge margin.
To some extent, Uma is right in being angry. And the party is in a quandary. The situation is such now that till she is rehabilitated she will continue to be a thorn in the party’s side. TheBJP would also be cutting its nose if it fails to realise that Uma remains one of its best campaigners and public speakers. For Uma too, being a true child of the parivar, she has nowhere else to go. TheRSS-VHP-BJP is the only world she knows. Never mind those trips to Kedarnath.
