Indian Government Is Striving To Bring Back Stranded Students In Israel, Says MoS MEA Meenakshi Lekhi

Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi said that she had been receiving several messages about the Indian students who are stranded in the newly war-torn country of Israel and she wanted to assure them that the Prime Minister's office is directly supervising the situation and making efforts to bring the natives back safely. 

Lekhi spoke to the media on Sunday when she said, "Indian government is striving to bring back stranded students of India from Israel. Prime Minister and his office are monitoring the situation and huge efforts are underway to get back our students who are stuck in that country."

The Union minister further said, “So whether it was Operation Ganga or Vande Bharat, we brought everyone back and I'm sure GoI (Government of India) and the prime minister's office are directly in touch with those people and are working and monitoring the situation."

She also conveyed her condolences to the individuals who lost their lives in the rocket attacks launched by Hamas on Israel.

Lekhi told ANI that PM Narendra Modi has already expressed his condolences and solidarity with Israel regarding the situation. She added, "We express our condolences to all those who have been killed in this attack and the families of the injured at this difficult time."

She wanted to remind the media that the Indian government was successful in evacuating its citizens from foreign countries during crises like the Russia-Ukraine war or in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
