Former Maharashtra home minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has written to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde demanding the lifting of a ban imposed on some development works which he said were "unreasonably" suspended by the incumbent government.

Deshmukh, currently on bail in the alleged corruption and money laundering cases being probed by the CBI and the ED, stated the common man was suffering because of the ban.

"There was an unreasonable ban invoked by the Shinde-led government on several development works recommended by the elected representatives. The common citizens are suffering due to the blanket ban imposed on such works. I request you to kindly revoke the ban and get the pending works completed," he said in a letter written on Monday.
