Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Unveils Electric Vehicle Initiative For Key Tourist Spots On World Tourism Day

On World Tourism Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a forward-looking initiative to introduce electric vehicles (e-buses and e-rickshaws) exclusively at key tourist destinations across the state. Stressing a shift towards sustainability, he declared that only electric vehicles would be permitted in these areas, marking a gradual phase-out of traditional diesel and petrol vehicles. The Chief Minister actively encouraged private operators to partake in this eco-friendly tourism endeavor, according to media reports. 

At the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium, CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated an exhibition showcasing Uttar Pradesh's tourism potential. Simultaneously, he launched the comprehensive "A to Z" guidebook for tourism. During the ceremony, he distributed kits to members of the Youth Tourism Club and acknowledged the contributions of individuals in the tourism industry.

Under the overarching theme of "Tourism and Green Investment" for this year's World Tourism Day, the Chief Minister underscored the critical need for environmentally conscious practices in the tourism sector. He envisioned tourist destinations adopting a green and positive ambiance, advocating for the cessation of generator usage and the implementation of solar lighting. The aim is to foster tourism growth in alignment with sustainable energy practices.

Highlighting Uttar Pradesh's global leadership in spiritual tourism, CM Yogi Adityanath expressed that tourism isn't merely a catalyst for change but also a gateway to a new way of life. Propelling this vision forward, he outlined plans to incentivize private operators in adopting green practices by allowing only electric vehicles at major tourist spots.

Addressing concerns raised during public interactions, the Chief Minister assured the public of swift and impartial resolutions. He directed officials to ensure effective measures to address issues promptly. Additionally, he pledged stringent actions against criminal activities, reinforcing the government's commitment to citizen safety and well-being.
