5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Andaman Islands

The Andaman Islands earthquake was the second in the past 24 hours. Earlier on 8:50 pm on Friday, a 4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Arunachal Pradesh.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Andaman Islands on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The NCS said the earthquake occurred at 00:53 am on Saturday at a depth of 69 kms. 

There was no immediate report of any damage. 

The Andaman Islands earthquake was the second one to be reported in the past 24 hours. Earlier on 8:50 pm on Friday, a 4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Arunachal Pradesh in the northeastern India. No casualties or damage to properties was immediately reported, according to PTI. 

Earlier on July 22, an earthquake of magnitude 3.3 on the Richter scale hit Tawang district in Arunachal, reported PTI
