These are the proposed government amendments to the Post and Telegraph Act 1898:
- Only postal service, Speedpost—not private couriers—will be allowed to ship packets weighing below 500 grams
- A regulator will be appointed to monitor private players
- Courier operators will have to pay registration and renewal fees to the postal department
- Big courier firms will have to pay universal service obligation fee fixed by the government
