Kerry Adler, a well-recognised name in the renewable energy sector, has built his image by doing path-breaking works especially related to environmental protection and risk mitigation due to climate change. He is not just a visionary leader but also a great humanist who has believed in the growth of all and not just centred his focus on profit-making mechanism.
What separates Kerry Adler from others who ensure the supply of renewable energy is the cost factor. Accumulation and transmission of renewable energy, especially solar energy is quite costly, but according to Mr. Adler, energy transition towards net zero emissions doesn’t have to be that expensive if tackled efficiently. He wants to ensure that proper insurance and financial needs are in place, so that all the energy projects will deliver access to energy at a very convenient cost. From his point of view sustainable energy should be “sustainable” not only for environment or climate but also for the people, and that’s the main reason why Mr. Adler’s SkyPower is trying to mitigate cost as much as possible.
Kerry Adler also stated that SkyPower is setting up another office in the UAE from where it will serve the MENASA region. Since Adler gives special emphasis on downtrodden sections of the society, hence he is working on expanding his work area over the next few years to focus especially on communities that are at the lowest rung of the power (electricity) ladder. This plan includes countries in Africa, as well as in South East Asia. SkyPower has over 15 GW solar projects at various stages of development and cooperation from other leading corporations will help SkyPower to expand and accelerate the growth to meet the demands of renewable energy in sustainable manner.
Hon. Ed Fast, Minister of Interantional Trade (2011-2015), Government of Canada, said, “Another excellent Canadian initiative is SkyPower Global’s donation of 5,000 solar-powered lights to South African villages without electricity so children can have light for reading and writing at night. Companies like SkyPower ... can help meet the energy needs of sub-Saharan Africa through innovative technologies and by investing in new projects.”
Kerry Adler’s SkyPower Global has been involved in not just one but multiple programs that are related to sustainability goals over the years across the nations. Several partnerships have been initiated to foster support in investment arena of renewable projects that aims to control and effectively reduce carbon emissions at each and every stage of the process. Furthermore, this initiative of Kerry entails the exploration, research and development for establishing political and commercial risk insurance solutions to improve bankability and attract cheaper capital to renewable power and associated projects locally and globally.
What Mr. Adler and his SkyPower has achieved over the years globally is truly remarkable, and it is due to his never ending endeavour to provide betterment for the humanity and environment, the leaders worldwide have praised and appreciated him and his work.
In the words of H. E. Uhuru Kenyatta, Former President, Republic of Kenya, “Kenya is so very proud to work with SkyPower...to address energy deficiency and climate change in our unwavering efforts to ensure the brightest and most prosperous future for all Kenyans”.
