Q. Devanshu how did you enter this field of content creation?

Ans. Since I was in my school, I had this knack for making people laugh. I tried my hands on comedy videos but they weren’t very successful. Then I drifted towards a course in animation and VFX. I even worked for a handsome salary in a big company. During this time I was nowhere near content creation. Once my colleague told me about Tik Tok it was then that I again started making videos. However, the engagement was low and I was not getting what I wanted. Then I tried working through my voice and not lip-syncs or recording and that did wonders for me. After that, there was no turning back. I took my first as a content creator on Tik Tok and then followed Instagram and YouTube, and finally, I am here today.

Q. Okay, so what now? What are your future goals at this point in your life?

Ans. Right now I am focused on what I am doing. My content creation is the whole basis of my identity today, so I will make content throughout. For me, sidelining content is not an option. However, in the future, I would like to incorporate and try more things. I will try for web series, on OTT platforms or Netflix or Amazon Prime. Today time is more inclined toward OTT platforms so I believe that is where I wish to be. Apart from this, I would like to try Bollywood because why not. After the web series the next step is movies. I also want to launch my merchandise but I think there is a  good amount of time for it.

Q. Devanshu currently social media is a place that people use for making harsh comments and judgments. What is your take on it?

Ans. Yes, you are right. With the growth in social media, there has also been growth in open criticism or harsh judgments. But the thing to realize here is that when there is a lot of attention on a certain thing, people feel attracted to it. Also, though attracted one may not find that thing worthwhile because we cannot make everyone happy, we are not chocolate cake. Some people don’t even like that. So, all I’m trying to say is people will be people. It’s like that song, “Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hia kehna.” But they won’t ever say it to your face. It will be in the comment section, DMs, or in their space, they won’t come and say anything to your face. Also, if 2 people don’t like you 8 will, so it’s okay. I’ve been through a tough phase and I know what it is when people make you feel less or twisted but that’s all right. The simple concept is, if you feel bad at one point you can’t stop, you have to keep moving because why would you stop at a bad place? Isn’t it so?

Q. Lastly, Devanshu what is something that you would share or maybe tell the younger generation is still working their way into the field of content creation?

Ans. The only thing that I would like to share or rather say is, “Don’t ever give up!” It is not necessary that a dream is only for artistic people, it’s for everybody. If you wanna sing, dance, create content, be a lawyer, doctor, academic, or anything else, just go for it. There will be times when things won’t turn out as you want but try again. Leaving behind your passion is a choice that you will make. Rather than this choice, make the choice to stick around longer and make things work out for yourself.

For no one is a better version of you than you yourself, and no one will stay longer than you will for our own dreams.
