Vijay Varma Reacts To Netizens Calling His Cannes 2023 Appearance As His Debut: Not My First Time

Vijay Varma will be returning to Cannes this year after a decade. However, when reports first came out, it was suggested that the 'Dahaad' actor will be making his debut at Cannes 2023. Clarifying the same on Twitter, Vijay schooled netizens that it isn’t his first time.

Reacting to the reports of his Cannes debut, Vijay tweeted, “Not my first time. First time was in 2013 with my film Monsoon Shootout. I’m going after a decade (sic)." For the unversed, he even posted a picture from the red carpet from ten years ago for ‘Monsoon Shootout’.

Amit Kumar's directorial venture ‘Monsoon Shootout’, which was a neo-noir action thriller, starred Geetanjali Thapa, Sreejita De, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Tannishtha Chatterjee in the lead roles. It premiered at Cannes in the Midnight Screenings section in 2013.

Coming to Vijay, he was recently spotted at the airport as he left for the French Riviera to be part of the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Not just him, Sara Ali Khan, Manushi Chhillar, Esha Gupta will also be walking the red carpet today, May 16. 

On the work front, Vijay Varma is getting all the praise for his performance in the recently released crime drama series, ‘Dahaad’, which also featured Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in the lead roles.
