Veteran Singer and actor Lucky Ali has apologised for his Facebook post in which he claimed that the word Brahma, known to be ‘the creator’ in Hindu mythology, stems from Abraham or Ibrahim. In the now-deleted post, Ali said the word Brahmans (or Brahmins) is a lineage of Abraham or Ibrahim and are “the Father of all Nations”.

The post read: “The name ‘Brahman’ comes from ‘Brahma’ which comes from ‘Abram’ .. which comes from Abraham or Ibrahim.. The Brahmans are a lineage of Ibrahim. Alaihisalam… The Father of all Nations… so whys everyone just arguing and fighting without reasoning amongst themselves?”

Instead, his intentions, the singer said, were to bring people together but he realised that it did not come out the way he meant it to.

The post on Tuesday read: “… I will be more aware of what I am posting and of my phrasing as I see now that it has upset many of my Hindu brothers and sisters. For that I am deeply sorry. I Love you all…”

It was also nominated at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards. His next album, Sifar, was noted for its music, lyrics and vocals.
