Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing of 'Friends' was found dead in a hot tub at his home in California, Los Angeles on October 28. He was 54. His sudden demise sent shockwaves across the world. Now, in an interview, Perry's ex-girlfriend opened up about his death. Well, for the unaware, in his memoir, 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing', Matthew Perry opened up about their short-term romance when Julia Roberts starred as a guest star in a 1996 episode of 'Friends'.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Julia said, “All good thoughts and feelings. They were all so welcoming to me as just a kind of a one-off character and it was a really fun time. The sudden passing of anybody so young is heartbreaking. I think that you know, it just helps all of us just appreciate what we have and to keep going in a positive way as best we can.”

Matthew and Julia dated for only two months, and Perry even met the actress' parents for the first time when he joined her family trip to New Mexico to celebrate the New Year.

In his 2022 memoir, the actor revealed, "We jumped in this big blue truck and drove up a mountain, snow swirling around. Eventually, we reached a mountaintop, and for a moment the weather cleared, and we could see New Mexico and beyond, all the way back to Canada. As we sat there, she made me feel like the king of the world. A gentle snow was falling, and with that, 1996 began."

The '17 Again' actor added, "I had been constantly certain that she was going to break up with me. Why would she not? I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unlovable. So instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts."

Earlier, Matthew's 'Friends' co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow penned emotional notes remembering the actor.
