'Duranga' recently returned with its second season on Zee5. The show stars Gulshan Devaiah, Amit Sadh, Drashti Dhami and Barkha Bisht in pivotal roles. Directed by Rohan Sippy, the Hindi web series is an adaptation of the Korean drama 'Flower of Evil'. The show has been received well and everyone has been praised for their stellar performances including Barkha who plays Prachi Bane, the mysterious Abhishek Bane's sister. She is an integral part of the series and she portrayed her character brilliantly.

Recently, post the release of the show, Barkha spoke about her character, her preparation for it and her experience.

'Duranga 2' promises intense plot developments. Is there a specific plot twist that, when first revealed to you, took you by surprise and added depth to your character's journey?

I think the whole show took me by surprise. I did not see the original show, but when the whole story brief was given to me, there were various places where I was very surprised, about the personality and the identity change of Amit and Gulshan. Halfway through, I thought that maybe I'm the serial killer, and then I was like, Oh, it's not me. Somewhere down the line, I thought, maybe my brother (Abhishek Bane) is the serial killer, or maybe he has a split personality. So that wasn't the thing, there were various plots and twists that were there in the show. When I was briefed on it, I was surprised quite a few times.

As an actress, you've worked on various projects. Can you share an instance from your past work that served as valuable preparation for your role in 'Duranga Season 2'?

No, because I don't think I've done a thriller before, so I didn't have any reference from my work that I could have put into this show. It was completely new, and I was like a complete blank page when I started Duranga. I thought this is something I'm doing for the first time and will be challenging. I am playing a very different character. It is a very different genre of the entire show. So whatever has happened in Duranga is like the first time ever.

Reflecting on your experiences during 'Duranga 2', can you describe a moment where your character's journey intersected with your personal experiences, creating a unique and unforgettable on-set memory?

Prachi is an extremely complex character, very antisocial, in her own world, she's a loner. So I know, I don't think at any point in time, I felt that this is something similar to Barkha in real life. It was a very different and complex character.
