Earlier this year, Bollywood films made their way back to Bangladesh after more than 50 years. The recent Bollywood film that is set to make its way in the neighbouring country is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal.’ However, a report reveals that 27 minutes of “adult’ content was removed by the censor board in Bangladesh.

A report by Bollywood Hungama reveals that the Bangladesh Film Censor Board has removed certain scenes and dialogues from ‘Animal.’ The run time was significantly reduced. Quoting a source, the report mentioned, “The Bangladesh Film Censor Board made it clear that the movie cannot release unless certain ‘adult’ scenes were chopped off. The makers agreed. In the process, some 27 minutes of the content got censored. The run time of Animal in Bangladesh is 2 hours and 56 minutes.”

The report mentioned that the Bangladeshi audience is not happy with the decision made by the Censor Board. They believe that cutting off the shocking bits will not make the movie cohesive. It said, “As expected, the audience wasn’t happy like their Indian counterparts as the censored version of Animal was devoid of the shock value.” Reports have revealed that a major section of the Indian audience flocked in large numbers to watch the film in theatres only for the explicit scenes.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has been marred in controversies ever since its release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri, the movie is still raking in audiences in theatres. It has overtaken ‘Gadar 2’ in terms of success.
