The Re:Bel Robotica teaser trailer has finally given anime fans their first proper look at the upcoming original sci-fi series. After its production was confirmed last month, the newly released promotional video offers a glimpse into its futuristic setting while introducing the creative team behind the ambitious project. The teaser also debuts an original musical piece by acclaimed composer Yuki Kajiura, adding another layer of intrigue to an anime that has so far remained largely under wraps.

The first promotional video offers only brief story hints but establishes a striking visual identity. Set in a futuristic version of Shibuya in 2050, the anime imagines a society transformed by Mixed Reality technology, where the physical and virtual worlds have merged. At the centre of the story is Lily, a young woman whose actions appear destined to disrupt a city celebrated as the happiest in the world.
The project is being led by chief director Shin Onuma, whose previous works include Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and The Ones Within. Series composition has been handled by Ryo Yoshigami, known for his work on the Psycho-Pass franchise, while the score is being composed by Yuki Kajiura, whose music has featured in Demon Slayer, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Sword Art Online.
Creative team shares vision for original anime
It was explained by Shin Onuma that the anime expands the original world with a completely new story, allowing the production team to explore deeper emotional drama while faithfully bringing Mika Pikazo's artwork to animation. Similar sentiments were expressed by Ryo Yoshigami and Yuki Kajiura, both of whom highlighted the collaborative effort behind the project and praised the original concept.
Unlike many anime adaptations, Re:Bel Robotica is based on the AAO Project, an initiative that develops original intellectual properties through collaborations between creators and production companies. Although no broadcast or release date has been announced yet, the teaser suggests the project is progressing steadily.
