Take a look at the trailer of ‘Blue Star’ here.

‘Blue Star’ deals with the caste and class oppression that these two youngsters face as they make cricket their only focus in life. It deals with the trials that they face as they try to secure a position at the local cricket selection. However, their background comes into play and becomes a deciding force. One of the best parts of this trailer is how the makers have not romanticized these caste and class issues. They are presented realistically without any extra jazz. Simplicity and sticking to reality is a formula that never fails, yet a lot of filmmakers choose to ignore that. However, S Jayakumar has used it brilliantly to bring out the nuances and the complexities without making it look preachy.
