In a major step toward expanding global industrial partnerships, the Government of Himachal Pradesh delegation, led by Hon’ble Industries Minister Shri Harshwardhan Chauhan, held an interactive session with leading Vietnamese industry representatives at the Embassy of India, Hanoi.
The event highlighted the growing synergy between India and Vietnam, with a special focus on collaborations in healthcare, food processing, pharmaceuticals, electric mobility, and manufacturing sectors.
Ms. Tako Ajungla Jamir, IFS (2005), Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy in Vietnam, welcomed the Himachal delegation and emphasized the mutual potential for investment partnerships between the two economies.
“India and Vietnam are rapidly growing economies, and this interaction opens avenues for Vietnamese enterprises to explore promising investment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh — a state with rich resources and a skilled workforce,” she stated.
The Himachal delegation comprised Hon’ble MLAs Shri Anil Sharma (Mandi), Shri Bhawani Singh Pathania (Fatehpur), and Shri Hardeep Singh Bawa (Nalagarh), along with Shri R.D. Nazeem, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), and , Joint Director of Industries (Una) and Project Lead, E&Y LLP..
During the session, Sh. R.D. Nazeem made a detailed presentation outlining sectoral investment opportunities in Tourism, Wellness, Logistics, EV Manufacturing, Food Processing, and Pharmaceuticals. He also announced that both India and Vietnam aim to achieve developed nation status by 2045–47, and that enhanced industrial collaboration will play a pivotal role in realizing this shared vision.
“We are determined to provide a single-window clearance system and investor-friendly infrastructure for our Vietnamese partners. This interaction is a step toward building meaningful collaborations in high-value sectors like medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and precision manufacturing,” said Shri Nazeem.
Hon’ble Industries Minister Sh. Harshwardhan Chauhan reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to green industrialization, rural entrepreneurship, and sustainable development under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh. Sukhwinder Singh Sukkhu. He also invited Vietnamese investors to participate in upcoming Reverse Buyer–Seller Meets (RBSMs) in Himachal Pradesh to strengthen bilateral trade.
“Our government is committed to building long-term partnerships with Vietnamese industries. Himachal Pradesh offers stability, skilled manpower, and sector-specific incentives to ensure smooth business operations. We warmly invite Vietnamese companies to visit our state and witness the opportunities firsthand,” he stated.
Prominent Vietnamese organizations — including the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI), Indian Business Chamber in Hanoi (INCHAM Hanoi), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), T&T Group, Sovico ग्रुप, and Vietjet Air — participated in the session. Discussions centered on advancing cooperation in medical technologies, pharmaceutical production, and sustainable industrial ventures.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the Indian Embassy, reaffirming the joint commitment of the Governments of Himachal Pradesh and Vietnam to promote mutual trade, technology exchange, and investment partnerships for a sustainable future.
