A video of a man tied to an army jeep has surfaced in Kashmir on Friday. The army has said that it will investigate the contents of the video.

"The contents of the video are being verified and investigated", Srinagar based defense spokesman said. The video in which the young man is tied to an army jeep has evoked outrage in Kashmir with former chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeting about it.

The video was posted by the spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference  Junaid Azim Mattu. He said the jeep was being driven  as part of a convoy by the security forces in Gundipora, Beerwah.  However,  it is not clear  who shot it  or when but the tactical number 339 on the jeep is visible. The army can make use of it to track the vehicle down.

There is a possibility that the youth could have been used as a human shield. According to a BBC  report, Israeli border police have used  this method of  human shielding to stop Palestinians from throwing stones during protests.

It has surfaced after another video in which the paramilitary forces are seen firing at a stone throwing protester from a point blank range.

Just a day before, a video of Indian Army personnel being kicked and misbehaved by Kashmiri youth had gone viral. The jawans were returning from polling booth and showed complete restraint without showing any retaliation.
