After the high of T20I, India lost the ODI series with one game to play. But Ravindra Jadeja produced an all-round performance to give India an outside chance in the must-win second ODI at Auckland on Saturday.

It was a case of so close, yet so far for India with Jadeja hanging shepherding the tailenders. Chasing New Zealand's 273/8, India were in trouble from the start, losing Mayank Agarwal in the third over itself. Then, the visitors were 153/7 in the 32nd over.

Then, Jadeja and Navdeep Saini (45 off 49) added 76 runs to resurrect the chase, only to fall short by 22 runs. Jadeja made 55 off 73 balls.
