Veteran Robin Uthappa became the costliest Indian acquisition in the 2020 IPL player auction. With a base price of Rs 1.5 crore, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 3 crore.

Uthappa was earlier released by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Considered to be a IPL veteran, he has played 177 matches in the competition, scoring 4411 runs at a strike rate of 130.50 which consists of 24 fifties.

The inaugural IPL champions also paid Rs 3 crore for Jaydev Unadkat.

The other Indians who hit the limelight are Pravin Tambe, who joined Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 20 lakh. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal joined Rajasthan Royals for Rs 2.40 crore.

Also, Pat Cummins became the costliest player in the IPL 2020 Player Auction. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 15.50 crore for the 2020 Indian Premier League season. Cummins also became the second most expensive player in an IPL auction, after none other than Yuvraj Singh. The pacer also broke Ben Stokes record of being the most expensive foreigner in the IPL. In the 2017 auction, Rising Pune Supergiant paid Rs 14.5 crore for the Englishman.
