  • Unique initiative for traffic police of Delhi
  • Identified 12 high traffic locations in Delhi for the activity

With the scorching summer afternoon and managing the heavy traffic flow, the city’s traffic police bear the incessant vehicle honking, wiping off the sweat to ensure a safe and smooth ride for everyone. With a view to provide ‘Summer mein Sukoon’ to the city’s traffic police, ABZORB- the popular anti-fungal powder launched a campaign in Delhi’s high traffic areas engaging with many traffic policemen across the city.

The campaign was aimed at addressing heat issues faced by traffic police especially during the summer season when temperatures touch record high levels with an increased percentage of humidity in the atmosphere. The traffic in the city has been breaking all records owing to the on-going infrastructural developments taking place at various locations.

The unique initiative had canter vans of ABZORB, a product of Sun Pharma’s consumer healthcare division, placed at major traffic signals/circles. These vans were stationed at specific places for traffic police and they were counselled with tips to stay hydrated, manage sweat and remain protected from the fungal infections, which are rampant during summers. The vans were placed at various locations in Delhi, majorly focusing on high traffic zones, which included, Kailash Colony, Greater Kailash, Moolchand, Nehru Place, Okhla, Kalkajee, IIT Crossing, Ashram Chowk etc.

A traffic policeman placed at Nehru Place, expressed his views on the initiative, "Delhi temperatures go through the roof in summers and this was a great initiative to take care of the Traffic Police. Getting distracted with the heat is not an option for us and hence, having such initiative really helped.”

According to a TomTom Traffic Index 2018 released recently by TomTom, Delhi is the 4th ranked city to have the worst traffic conditions in the world, where as Mumbai takes the top position out of all the cities ranked in the index. The impact of the traffic congestion is felt by the traffic police who manage movement of vehicles all throughout the day.
