Union Industries Minister Murasoli Maran, who wasinjured in a scuffle with the police during the arrest of DMK President M.Karunanidhi, has been admitted in the Intensive care unit of the Apollo Hospitalhere.
Doctors attending on him said his condition was stable.
Maran, nephew of Karunanidhi, sustained injuries in thescuffle at the latter's residence where he was called by Karunanidhi around 1.30AM when the police reached there.
When Karunanidhi was taken in a car by the police,Maran got into the car, but police bodily lifted him out.
Maran followed Karunanidhi, when he was taken to theheadquarters of the Crime Branch of the state police, where he was againphysically removed by the police. He was also prevented from entering Veperypolice station, where Karunanidhi was kept for some time.

Maran, who had sufferedserious cardiac problems a few months ago, was taken to Apollo Hospital by hisfamily members for a check up from the police station. (PTI)
