Floods in Assam have affected people and animals alike. At least 27 people have been killed and almost 90% of the Kaziranga National Park submerged due to floodwaters leading to the death of at least 51 wild animals, including five rhinos and an elephant.
On Thursday morning, a tiger, after escaping massive floods, sought refuge in a house and sat peacefully on a bed.
Wildlife Trust India, an organisation working for the welfare of animals, shared the photographs of the tiger sitting on a bed. The trust said one of its representatives was trying to tranquilise the tiger so as get him out of the bed.

"Our vet @samshulwildvet is on a mission to tranquilise this #tiger to get him out of bed! Anyone else see the irony?" Wildlife Trust India tweeted.
It further tweeted that "The #tiger was spotted nxt to the highway at 8:30 am, moving fm the park, just 200 m away, on its way to Karbi hills abt 500 m across the National highway. Probably disturbed, he jumped across the wall of a scrap garage & took refuge in the dark room."
The Wildlife Trust team will now wait until it gets dark to ensure safe passage to the tiger.
A report by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said that over 57 lakh people on 30 of the 33 districts have been affected by floods across the state.

Over 1.50 lakh people have been displaced from their homes and taken shelter in 427 relief camps and 392 relief distribution centres set up by various district administrations, the ASDMA bulletin said.
