Sanju Samson has been in and out of the Indian team on many occasions. The Wicketkeeper-batter has immense potential but still remains shy of fulfilling it on the bigger stage. The T20I series in West Indies is a classic example where Samson has failed to put a show with the bat as with most of the Indian batters around him. But, as other names are bound to get more chances, former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria reckons that time might be up soon for the Kerala cricketer who has failed to make up for the given opportunity. Samson just scored a half-century, that too in the 3rd ODI against the West Indies, which many felt could be the right dose for the batter's form to peak with the T20Is coming around. However, Samson failed to turn up with the bat in the first two T20Is versus the West Indies.

Former Pakistan spinner, Danish Kaneria did not hold back in stating that the star player hasn't made most of the chances given to him.

"India rested Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli so that they could give others a chance, as many have complained that a few players haven't had enough opportunities. Now that India have played them, when are you going to score runs, Sanju Samson? He has had enough chances now. I was among the people who supported him and wanted him to get consistent opportunities. However, he hasn't made the most of these chances," he was quoted saying in a video on his YouTube channel.

Samson did not get to bat in the third 3rd T20I, but with the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal waiting for an opportunity, the Kerala cricketer's time could really be up soon.
