Both have sharp eyes that read the ball very fast. They have a good reading of the perceptual cues. The conjecture is that both will be good at table tennis too.
Both have powerful forearms and legs. The punch they pack in an almost defensive straight-bat shot comes from a mixture of reading of the ball, timing and execution.
Since both are short men, they have a low centre of gravity which makes them more balanced than other taller batsmen.
Sehwag is 5’5 1/2" and Sachin is 5’4". Since their structures are similar, they gain the same height when on the backfoot, and attain the same reach when they go forward.
