But he is still alive in the men's doubles, having defeated Portugal's Nuno Borges and Marcos Giron 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) in one and half hours in the round of 32. India's N Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Bollipalli had earlier bowed out with their respective partners in the second round.
