- Takeru Segawa vs Denis Puric fight will be a three-round clash

The blockbuster card for ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri just got even bigger, as Japanese megastar Takeru “Natural Born Krusher” Segawa is scheduled to face off against battle-hardened veteran Denis “The Bosnian Menace” Puric in a pivotal flyweight kickboxing showdown on Sunday, November 16.

The three-round clash will take place at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, and it promises to deliver fireworks for as long as it lasts.

Takeru, the #2-ranked flyweight kickboxing contender, will return to home soil for his fourth ONE Championship appearance, and the 34-year-old Japanese sensation is eager to bounce back into the win column and jump-start the road to a rematch with former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon.

In his highly anticipated debut, the Team Vasileus standout failed to capture the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title from “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 165 in January 2024. Even though Takeru suffered a unanimous decision loss, the two warriors treated the global fan base to a fight they’ll never forget.

Later that year, he secured a comeback victory against Myanmar’s Thant Zin. However, “Natural Born Krusher” was knocked out by Rodtang in the first round of their long-awaited battle at ONE 172 this past March.

Those setbacks have only fueled the former three-division K-1 Champion’s hunger to prove himself once again in front of his passionate hometown fans. A statement win here could pave the path for a rematch against his archrival.

“Natural Born Krusher” built a reputation for himself with his explosive finishing ability, using his karate background to unleash devastating kicks that push opponents backward before dishing out punishing boxing combinations to the head and body.

And with 26 career knockouts to his credit, it’s clear that Takeru is always hunting for the match-ending blow.

Standing in his way is Puric, a 40-year-old warrior who has proven that he belongs among the world’s most elite strikers.

The Bosnian-Canadian veteran gave Rodtang all he could handle during their epic kickboxing war at ONE 167 in June 2024, ultimately falling by unanimous decision. However, he earned respect for his relentless pressure and ferocious power.

That performance showcased exactly why Puric has enjoyed such a loyal fan following since joining ONE in 2022. Despite facing adversity throughout his promotional tenure, “The Bosnian Menace” continues to bring an unrelenting fighting style that has captured global attention.

For Takeru, a victory could position him for another crack at Rodtang or even get him back on the road toward a ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title shot. Meanwhile, Puric sees an opportunity to earn arguably the biggest win of his career.
