- ONE Friday Fights 120 goes down live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 15, 2925
- Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA stars will put it all on the line for a chance to win contracts and spots on the main roster
- This ONE Championship event will see Indian MMA star Arti Khatri take on Itsuki Hirata of Japan in the MMA atomweight division
On August 15, ONE Championship will continue its quest to uncover the next martial arts superstars at ONE Friday Fights 120.
There, nearly two dozen international Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA athletes will put it all on the line for the chance to walk away with a US$100,000 contract and spot on the promotion’s main roster.
With just days to go until the event goes down live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, here’s what to expect on the card.
Headlining the show will be the flyweight Muay Thai battle between Yodlekpet Or Atchariya and Pompet Panthonggym. If their track records tell us anything, it’s that this fight won’t go the distance.
Both Thai warriors are coming off knockout wins. Yodlekpet finished Donking Yotharakmuaythai in the first round of their June foray while Pompet scored a second-round knockout of Puengluang Baanramba in the same month just two weeks prior.
As mainstays of the Friday Fights series, either man could get closer to the coveted life-changing deal with another destructive finish.
In the flyweight Muay Thai co-main event, Thai striker Gingsanglek Wor Kumchamnarn steps into the ring to throw down with the always-dangerous man from Myanmar — Thant Zin.
Throughout their respective ONE Friday Fights careers, both men have went to war with elite-level opposition, but this will be the first time they cross paths in the promotion.
Gingsanglek enters this fight with his back against the wall, having emerged victorious only once in his last four outings. His previous win came against the already-contracted Alexey Balyko at ONE Friday Fights 115 this past July, and it happened by first-round knockout.
He’ll look to replicate that success against a man who’s just as eager to up the count in his own win column. Thant Zin came into the weekly series in early 2024 and immediately etched his name in the hearts of Muay Thai fans around the world.
He took out two of Thailand’s top rising stars before knocking down Japanese kickboxing great Takeru Segawa in their two-round fracas at ONE Friday Fights 81 in September 2024. He lost that battle and the one thereafter, but the Taw Win Ayeyar Club standout is on the hunt for redemption.
The featured fight of the evening sees Avatar PK Saenchai and former ONE World Title challenger Brice Delval throw down in bantamweight Muay Thai action.
Avatar has been a regular face in the weekly spectacle at Lumpinee, competing nine times against some of the world’s fiercest fighters, such as Mohammad Siasarani and Kiamran Nabati. But when pitted against the upper echelon, he’s failed to break through.
Delval, on the other hand, has yet to secure a victory in his three promotional appearances — although his fights have come against elite opponents like former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama and Muangthai PK Saenchai.
Rounding out the MMA portion of the card, fans will get to see the return of already-contracted Japanese fighter Itsuki Hirata, who takes on newcomer Arti Khatri in atomweight action.
Hirata has fought for ONE since 2019, where she’s taken on fighters like Alyse Anderson and Ham Seo Hee. She aims to continue her climb toward a ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title shot, but she has to get past Khatri to do so.
Khatri, for her part, will look to use the Japanese legend as a springboard into the promotion so that she can make her own case for an eventual crack at the crown.
