British Muay Thai legend Liam “Hitman” Harrison can’t wait to see his compatriot step into the ring and compete for the richest prize in the sport.
George “G-Unit” Jarvis will challenge reigning ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel for the title at ONE Fight Night 34 on Prime Video, which airs live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, August 1.
Harrison has become a massive fan of Jarvis’ fighting style and approach to the sport.
The English knockout artist enters this ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title clash riding a four-bout winning streak, and “Hitman” believes there’s something special about his countryman’s all-around game.
Ahead of the main event clash, Harrison said:
“There’s nothing that stands out specifically. He’s just very good in all areas. He’s determined and tough, and he isn’t afraid to get stuck in. He’s not a massive power-puncher, but he has got some snap, some venom to his punches.”
Jarvis earned his shot at the gold the hard way.
First, the Crawley-bred striker rattled off three straight victories at ONE Friday Fights. That run was punctuated by his breakthrough moment, as he used his punches, elbows, and suffocating forward pressure to knock out Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong in November 2024, a finish that secured him a life-changing six-figure contract with ONE Championship.
“G-Unit” then proved he belonged on the global stage in his U.S. primetime debut, as he ripped apart two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Mouhcine Chafi in April 2025 to secure a unanimous decision victory, push his record to 27-4, and earn his shot at ONE World Title gold.
Harrison respects how each battle has gotten progressively bigger and more challenging for Jarvis, who has stepped up every single time.
The 39-year-old legend sees a fighter hungry for the biggest tests in the sport, and it won’t get any bigger than his ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title showdown on August 1.
Harrison said:
“He wants to go against the big names, so I like him. That’s what we want to see. He’s strictly business and doesn’t shout his mouth off.”
Harrison Breaks Down The World Title Fight
While Harrison is thrilled to see George Jarvis challenge ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian Eersel for the gold, in this ONE Fight Night 34 preview, he admits this matchup is incredibly difficult to predict.
The British icon said:
“It’s a hard one because I don’t see anyone beating Regian Eersel in 4-ounce gloves. He’s another who can fight both styles and punch, knee, and elbow. It’s so hard to call. I’m friends with Regian, but I’d like to see George do well as a fellow Brit. So, I can’t really call that one.”
Eersel has established himself as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport today. The Dutch-Surinamese superstar holds an incredible 62-5 record, has never been knocked out in his professional career, and previously held the division’s kickboxing belt.
However, Harrison noticed some vulnerabilities in Eersel’s recent performances, particularly in his rematch with Sinsamut Klinmee in March 2023.
“Hitman” offered:
“[Jarvis] has to get Regian on his back foot like Sinsamut did. Kick his legs, kick his body, stop him from punching, and use elbows to counteract his punches. But you can’t ever rule out Eersel. He lost every single round versus Sinsamut until that body punch. It only takes one out of nowhere.”
This represents a massive step up in competition for Jarvis, as Eersel operates on a level that very few strikers can match.
Harrison believes this is the defining moment that will determine whether his countryman can join the cream of the crop.
The legend said:
“Jarvis will have to keep him on the back foot and nullify him, but that’s no easy job across five rounds. This is up to George to prove he’s at that level. I don’t think he’s beaten someone at Eersel’s elite level yet, but I know he wants to prove he can. Every time he’s had a test, he’s handled business. So, this is the time he can prove he can go from the world to the elite.”
