The five-day event will see six teams in competition - one of whom are Prime Volleyball League Season 2 champions Ahmedabad Defenders. The Gujarat franchise will make history as the first-ever Indian team to compete at the showpiece event. This is also the first time that the tournament is being held in India.
The Indian side have been drawn in Pool A alongisde defending champions Sir Sicoma Perugia of Italy and heavyweights Itambe Minas of Brazil. Sada Cruzeiro Volei of Brazil, Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds and Halkbank Spor Kulubu of Turkey make up Pool B.

"The competition will see the best clubs on the planet come together in India for the first time ever. Their incredible display of sporting excellence will be a treat for the fans," International Volley Federation (FIVB) president Ary Graca said in a statement.
