Former Indian pacer Sreesanth received a legal notice from the commissioner of Legends League Cricket (LLC) in response to his claim that Gautam Gambhir labeled him a 'fixer' during the Eliminator between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants on December 6. Sreesanth has been accused of breaching his contract within the T20 tournament and the commissioner states that discussions with him will only happen upon the removal of videos criticizing Gambhir within the league's purview. (Cricket News)

In a video released earlier, Sreesanth criticised Gambhir for what he described as hurtful remarks during the match. The fast bowler accused Gambhir of being rude and provoking him with harsh words.

Sreesanth in a statement said, “Just wanted to clear some air on what happened with Mr. Fighter, who always fights with all his colleagues for no reason whatsoever. He doesn’t even respect his senior players, including Viru Bhai and a lot of people. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me, something which is very rude and something which should not have been said by Mr. Gautam Gambhir.”

Following this, a cryptic message was dropped by Gautam Gambhir, on social media. He wrote, "Smile when the world is all about attention!"

Thereafter, Sreesanth also celebrated Gambhir’s dismissal in the Qualifier 2 of the LLC 2023 on Thursday against the Manipal Tigers. After Amitoze Singh ran Gambhir out with a direct hit, Sreesanth took to his Instagram story and wrote, “Beautiful throw, well-done @amitozesingh14”.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth's wife expressed shock at the incident and wrote a note on Instagram, "It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all, upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on the ground. Shocking, truly shocking."
