Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has signed up for the upcoming Hundred tournament in England, where she will represent the Northern Superchargers as a last-minute addition to the squad.

The 22-year-old batter will replace Australia's Heather Graham.

Rodrigues missed a significant portion of the competition last year due to a wrist injury. Despite not being retained by the Northern Superchargers during the draft in March, the team has now brought her back as an injury replacement.

This news comes in the aftermath of Australia's decision to withdraw two of their key players, Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry, from the tournament. The Hundred is scheduled to commence on August 1 and will run until August 27. Healy and Perry sustained injuries during Australia's second ODI against Ireland, prompting their return.

Rodrigues will become the fourth Indian cricketer to participate in the Hundred this year, joining the ranks of India captain Harmanpreet Kaur (Trent Rockets), vice-captain Smriti Mandhana (Southern Brave), and young wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh (London Spirit).

Expressing her excitement about returning to the Hundred, Rodrigues said, "I'm so excited to be back in The Hundred. It's a world-class competition, and I've had a fantastic experience participating in it previously."

Earlier in March, Rodrigues had a moderate run in the Women's Premier League (WPL) as the vice-captain of the Delhi Capitals. However, she recently showcased her match-winning all-round abilities, scoring 86 runs and taking four wickets for just three runs against Bangladesh. That performance was crucial in helping India level their three-match ODI series 1-1.
