The Indian men's and women's hockey teams will be participating in the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 that has already begun from Thursday, December 14. The tour is known to serve as a preparation for next year's biggest events including the Paris Olympics. (More Hockey News)

Indian men's hockey team are currently ranked no. 3 in the world and will be seen competing alongside Spain (No.8), Belgium (No. 2), Germany (No. 5) and France (No. 9). The tournament rules allow teams to play each other once and the side who finishes top of the table will be declared the winner.

Indian men's team have already qualified for the Paris Olympics, thanks to their Asian Games 2023 heroics. But the 5 Nations tourney will be a great practice of sorts for Harmanpreet Singh-led side to chalk out the errors and issues ahead of 2024 events like FIH Hockey Pro League and Olympics.

The tournament will also see women's hockey players in action as they look to book their place in 2024 Olympics. Indian women's team are sixth in the current rankings and will play against Spain, Belgium, Germany and Ireland.
