Riding on Glenn Maxwell's 90 off just 52 balls (4x4, 10x6), Melbourne Stars set a 166-run target for the Renegades in the indoor stadium of Docklands which also saw a controversial dismissal of captain Marcus Stoinis.
Tennis legend Novak Djokovic was present in the audience and he witnessed the breathtaking sixes of Maxwell, one of which went for 122 metres.
Chasing a modest target, the Renegades lost wickets at the start and eventually lost the match by 42 runs. Mark Steketee took a fifer and Joel Paris also grabbed three wickets for the Stars.
