In a bid for redemption after a disappointing outing at the Japan Masters, Indian shuttlers are looking to go one step further at the China Masters 2023 in Shenzen, China. With the likes of Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen already out of the tournament, the bid of taking Indian badminton ahead is world no. 8 HS Prannoy, who has secured a spot in the men's singles quarter-finals against third-seeded Japanese Kodai Naraoka. The Indian men's doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are also through to the quarter-finals and will face the Indonesian duo of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin.

In women's doubles, Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda exited early against the Chinese duo Zhang Shu Xian and Zheng Yu. There is no Indian representation in the mixed doubles section.
