How to Pick an Instagram Giveaway Winner for Free in 2023

There’s a ton of articles on You to Gift, as this Instagram giveaway service has been running since 2019. I don't claim to be very original, I just wanted to share my own experience and confirm that everything they say online is true.

If you're reading this article, you're probably looking for a way to quickly and cost-effectively run an Instagram giveaway. Of course, the first thing to do is to look for answers on Google, I used the same method once. Now I want to share the results of my search and hope you’ll find my experience useful.

To begin with, I had to dig through a ton of information online to find an option that suited all of my requirements. You to Gift turned out to be one of the most commonly mentioned services, so I decided to go with it. I went to the website… and was disappointed. The articles I read mentioned that the service is free, but in fact, it’s not. The problem is that most of the information I found is dated 2019-2020, and since then, a lot of things changed. But since I found a ton of positive reviews about these guys, I decided to still see what they offer.

I clicked on the Pick a Winner button and saw a pop-up window offering to pick an Instagram giveaway winner for free but in the You to Gift app. I was fine with it so I downloaded the app and started studying it. Here’s a link for you, for iOS and Android .

Each new user gets 40 coins as a gift. They can be spent to draw up the results of one large-scale or a few small-scale giveaways.

The app has a built-in randomizer that allows picking winners based on comments, likes, and subscriptions. I provided a link to my post, picked a method to assign participant ID numbers, and the amount payable popped up at the bottom. I had a small-scale giveaway with only 200 comments, and it cost me 10 coins to process them.

After that, I specified the number of possible winners and the software started building a database of participants. It took a couple of seconds, but if you have a lot of comments, the process might take a little longer. Now all I had to do is click Select Winner to activate the randomizer. It will display the winner's number.

The system automatically checks if they compiled with all the rules. In my case it’s to follow my profile, but you can also check if they liked your post. Everything seemed correct, so I clicked Complete Giveaway and that was the end of it.

Using You to Gift has many advantages. First of all, it’s a huge time-saver. I just pasted a link and checked the rule compliance and after that, the software did everything for me. The whole process took me less than two minutes.

Secondly, the service provided proof that the giveaway was fair. One of the biggest problems is that unscrupulous services often fail to collect the entire database and only process some part of it. It means that a large number of the participants might lose their chance to win. Here, after the results are summed up, you get a file with the participant database. Anyone can make sure that all of the contestants were taken into account, not just the first hundred people. There’s also a link to the winner selection process. You can publish it on social media so that people make sure there is no manipulation of the results.

Thirdly, the service is easy to use and has an intuitive interface. I didn't have to register or leave an email, so no one will harass me with newsletters. It's also important that You to Gift does not ask to submit your bank card information, so I don’t need to worry about any automatic charges, as it usually happens with other software products.

Finally, each user is offered bonus features, such as screen recording so that no one forgets about this important step (the feature is still in development for iOS devices). Once you’re done picking a winner, you get a picture with winner’s username. It’s perfect for posting on social media when you announce your giveaway results.

The app also has a free randomizer that can select a random value from both a given range and an uploaded file. In addition, if you need to download the list of likes, comments, or followers from any IG account, you can do it both on your phone and on You to Gift website .

The cherry on the cake is the chance to sum up giveaway results on a paid post an unlimited number of times. Let’s say you want to test how everything works ahead of time so that at the most responsible moment you don't get confused and know what to do. Pay once and test the features as many times as you need.
