When I was a kid, I remember how much my dad loved his morning coffee. As he would head off to work, he would have his favorite ceramic mug in his hand along with his briefcase. WHY YOU MAY NOT
While the feedback about the Ember Mug 2 has been overwhelmingly positive, there are a few things to note as to why some may not give it 100% positive feedback.
First of all, it’s not dishwasher safe. I know, that seems to contradict the waterproof claims, but the fact is, considering the technology contained within the mug, the company does not suggest putting your Ember Mug 2 in the dishwasher as the possibility exists over time that the mug could suffer damage. (I will say though that a quick rinse after use is all that is really needed so this wasn’t an issue for me)

Next comes the price. The Ember Mug 2 isn’t cheap and considering you can get a decent mug for $20 and pop it in the microwave to heat up your drink, it may not be for those that are extremely price conscious.
BOTTOM LINE?
I think the real question as to whether or not the Ember Mug 2 is ideal for you is…How much do you really love your hot coffee? (or tea, or hot chocolate) Those of us who include our hot and tasty beverages as an INTEGRAL part of each day will likely GLADLY fork over the money to bring one (or several) of these mugs into our home. I ended up getting a travel mug eventually as even when I would grab a coffee from a drive through, I quickly realized just how quickly the drink cooled off on a longer drive and I missed the heat that I got from the Ember Mug in my office. Let’s just say I’ve become accustomed to having my mocha latte nice and hot with each sip…which makes my using this mug pretty much a necessity. No, it’s not REALLY a necessity…drinking lukewarm coffee won’t kill you but keeping it piping hot and delicious can certainly add to your quality of life.
