Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien was on Tuesday asked to leave Rajya Sabha amid the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament over his 'unruly' behaviour, what chairman Jagdeep Dhankar called 'unbecoming of a Member of Rajya Sabha". Earlier on Monday, Dhankar had accused the TMC MP of doing "theatrics" in the Parliament to gain publicity.

However, he has not been suspended from Parliament, as reported earlier, as the voting on the motion to suspend him did not take place.

Dhankar lashed out at O'Brien who refused to confine his speech to the Delhi Services Bill and went on accusing the Centre of not conducting a discussion on Manipur violence.

Leader of the House Piyush Goyal moved a motion for his suspension "for continuously disturbing the proceedings of the House, disobeying the Chair and continuously creating a disturbance in the House."

A ruckus broke out in the Parliament this morning over the passage of Delhi Services Bill and well as the Manipur issue. Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon after opposition parties protested over O'Brien's suspension.
