Tamil Nadu: 6 Dead As Speeding Van Rams Into Lorry On Salem-Erode Highway

At the time of the accident, the van was carrying eight members who were travelling from Tamil Nadu's Eengur to Perunthurai. It has been reported that driver of the van and another passenger were seriously injured in the accident and were rushed to a hospital.

In an unfortunate road accident in Tamil Nadu's Salem, six people were killed in the wee hours of Wednesday. As per media reports, the accident occurred at nearly 4 am on the Salem-Erode highway in Tamil Nadu when a speeding van rammed into a stationary lorry. At the time of the accident, the van was carrying eight members who were travelling from Eengur to Perunthurai.

The deceased were identified as Selvaraj, Manjula, Arumugam, Palanisamy, Pappathi and a one-year-old child.

Duringpreliminary investigations, police recovered a CCTV video showing the moment of the tragic accident. It has been reported that  driver of the van and another passenger were seriously injured in the accident and were rushed to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims were sent for postmortem.
