Police Arrest 21-Year-Old In Bihar For Threatening To Blow Up Ayodhya's Ram Temple

A 21-year-old man from Bihar was arrested after making a threatening call to the police, asserting his intention to 'blow up' the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

A 21-year-old man from Balua Kaliyaganj in Palasi police station area of Araria district, Bihar, has been apprehended for making a threatening call to the police. The individual, identified as Intekhab Alam, dialed the emergency number 112 on January 19, claiming to be Chhota Shakeel, a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim. In the call, Alam asserted that he intended to "blow up" the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Araria's Superintendent of Police, Ashok Kumar Singh, stated that Alam was taken into custody from his residence late on Saturday. Although the accused does not have a criminal record, Singh noted that he appears to be mentally unstable. Due to the sensitivity of the matter, a case has been registered at Palasi police station, and Alam's mobile phone has been confiscated.

In response to the threat, authorities promptly shared details with the cyber cell. It was discovered that the mobile number used to make the call was registered in the name of Alam's father. The incident comes ahead of the scheduled consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
